We are delighted to announce that the Wellcome Trust has renewed funding for the 4ward North Clinical PhD Academy in a highly competitive setting. The 4Wrd North group incorporates the Universities of Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds and Newcastle, and the original 5 year cycle of funding supported 4 medical/dental/veterinary trainees per year. The Wellcome Trust have widened the remit and now the Academy will additionally be able to accept applications from a wide range of health care professionals (such as radiographers, pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists etc). The newly awarded 5 years funding cycle has been increased to support 5 PhDs per year. Applicants are encouraged to seek supervisory support from across the 4Wrd North group, and the Academy also has links to the Crick and Turing Institutes.
