Diane Lefley (Oncology & Metabolism) – 1st Prize at the 2nd Yorkshire Breast Cancer Symposium

Congratulations to Mrs Diane Lefley (Department of Oncology & Metabolism) for winning 1st prize for best oral presentation at the 2nd Yorkshire Breast Cancer Symposium.

The meeting was held at the University of Leeds on Thursday 13th September 2018 and was sponsored by White Rose University Consortium. Diane’s presentation focused on combining anti- IL-1 treatments with current standard of care for breast cancer bone metastasis. Diane, a research assistant in the Ottewell Lab, gave an outstanding presentation of this research project that promises better outcome for patients who have currently incurable bone metastasis. Diane’s exceptional presentation skills and robust data resulted in her being awarded first place amongst a field of post docs and PhD students from the universities of Sheffield, York, Leeds and Bradford. Well done Diane!
