Caterina Bendotti, got her degree in Pharmacy at the Università di Milano in 1984; Since 1998 is head of laboratory of the Molecular Neurobiology at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milano, Italy and her major research interest is the study of pathogenetic mechanisms of familial Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. In 1986 -1988 she was post doc at the Genetic developmental Lab, Dept. Physiology of the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimora, USA. She has been member of the editorial board of Journal of Neurochemistry (2002-2012). Member of Scientific Committees of the International Symposia on ALS held in Milano, 17-19 Novembre,2003. Member of the Italian Ministry of Health Committees for the diagnosis, cure, care and assistance of patients with ALS (DM 10.4.2003, DM 10.09.2004). Member of the scientific advisory board of MND Association, UK (2006-2010). Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Neuroscience (SINS)(2005-2009). Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Thierry Latran Foundation for the Research on ALS,France (2008-present). Member of the ENCALS Young Investigators Award Committee (2011-present). Member of the Editorial Board of CNS & Neurological Disorders – Drug Targets(2009-present).Manuscript reviewer for 15 scientific journals and grant reviewer for 7 european grant funding agencies.
Author and co-author of more than 100 articles with peer-review. Rapporteur of many comunications in national and international meetings.
