Dr Alex Ball is an evolutionary biologist focussing on understand the selection pressures and evolutionary history that has led to the diversity in sperm traits we see today. He uses both field and laboratory techniques in behavioural and molecular ecology to understand the interplay between genetics and mating system behaviour. Hopefully this work will prove informative for captive breeding programmes in the future.
