MDH Researchers raising awareness and funds for primary bone cancer

Researchers from Sheffield Sarcoma Research Group (SSRG) are involved in various fundraising activities in aid of Bone Cancer Research Trust (BCRT). The Bone Cancer Research Trust is the charity that offers hope to people affected by primary bone cancer. They are dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer and are uniquely placed to make a difference through research. Bone Cancer Research Trust’s ambition is for a future where primary bone cancer is cured. We recently held a raffle to raise money for BCRT and sales from the tickets raised over £300! We would like to thank everyone who bought a ticket, and also a MASSIVE thank you goes to Laura Phelan for securing so many amazing prizes – and selling the most tickets! A list of prize winners can be found here.

As the Bone Cancer Research Trust has turned 10 this year (that’s 10 years fighting primary bone cancer) SSRG members are taking part in their 10 FOR 10 CHALLENGE by 10 of them running the Sheffield 10K ( TenTenTen )! Dominique Heymann, Clem Heymann, Magda Adamczyk, Karan Shah, Luke Tattersall, Esther Cummings, Ryan Bishop, Shelly Lawson, Jen Down and Gill Tozer will be running as a team in this exciting and creative multi-terrain trail 10k, attracting over 1000 runners each year the event is well supported and has a fantastic atmosphere. To sponsor members of the team please visit the Team Bones Sheffield just giving page – so far our other activities have raised a whopping £642.50 – but we’d love to break the £1000 target with the help of your sponsorship!
