Congratulations to 2nd Year PhD student, Ben Ward (member of Dr. Ridger’s Group), who has recently won the prize for ‘Best Poster Presentation’ at the International Society for Extracellular Vesicle Meeting in Rotterdam. Ben is funded by the British Heart Foundation for the duration of his PhD. His poster, titled ‘Neutrophil derived microvesicles preferentially adhere to endothelium exposed to disturbed flow,’ beat off the competition from more than 250 other posters submissions to receive this award.
The 5th annual meeting of the ISEV was attended by more 900 delegates from universities and industry from across the globe. The meetings program included a broad range of educational and scientific sessions covering the entire spectrum of topics relevant to extracellular vesicle research. Standout out talks included a fascinating video presentation by Professor Robert Gallo, co-discoverer of the causal link between HIV and AIDS, who unfortunately was unable to attend the meeting in person due to illness.
