Clinical Research Fellow organises first Yorkshire Lung Cancer Clinical Trials Study Day

Fiona Taylor, Clinical Research Fellow in the Academic Unit of Clinical Oncology, Department of Oncology & Metabolism, along with a Specialist Registrar in Leeds, organised the first Yorkshire Lung Cancer Clinical Trials Study Day which was held in Wakefield on 11 December 2015.

The event was open to all staff that work in the NHS and researchers treating people with lung cancer with the aim of encouraging trainees and nurses to develop clinical trial ideas with a specific focus on lung cancer.

There were a variety of sessions in the programme including Clinical Trial Design, What gets a trial funded and funding streams, and case studies which were delivered by staff from the University of Leeds Clinical Trials Research Unit, St James’ Institute of Oncology and Weston Park Hospital amongst others.

The event was rated as Excellent/Good by all participants.
