November is Academic Writing Month, a write-a-thon that happens every year.* WriteFest (#AcWriFest15) is a University-wide festival of academic writing spanning the whole of November. Drawing on the format of the very popular academic writing retreats, WriteFest has some added bitesize workshops, a guide to crafting your own ideal writing soundtrack, and a creative writing element. We encourage all academics, research staff, and research students to join in the write-a-thon!
There are 12 mini Writing Retreats on through November, see the full timetable here, alongside more info about the festival. Feel free to just turn up to any you fancy (arrive 10 min early), first come first served, no need to book a place. Simply bring your laptop, or pen and paper along. And all we ask is that you please arrive early and stay for the full 2h session.
